Riding top-hats: Horse-riders used to wear these hats at the time of horse-riding. Some of the models were being equipped with heavier toppers. Regular-riders were allowed to wear these hats in order to complement the formal dress of horse-riding.

Livery top-hats: These hats are absolutely normal-toppers. Gold-lace trimming is one of the main specialities of these hats. Sometimes, silver-braiding or lace was also added for enhancing the overall charm of these hats. Servants or doormen used to wear these hats on service.
